I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bayreuth in Germany, where I also teach European transnational, cultural history.
My research focuses on intercultural responses to national and nationalist musical practices in the continent, the impact of transnational musical institutions upon local cultural identities, and the evolution of musical production in the continent. My interests include sound studies, cultural theory, the philosophy of art and music, critical theory and interdisciplinarity as a practice.
In my musical life, I am a freelance piano and music history tutor and I also participate in artistic projects as a performer and musician.
I’m happy to be contacted for public lectures on history, music, and art, as well as for research- or art-related collaborations.
